Here are some quick Euchre game tips:
- If you order-up (accept the turn-up card as trump) and you have a singleton in your hand, discard the singleton to void yourself in a suit.
- If you do not have any cards in the same suit as the turn-up card, then you should pass.
- Be careful if you decide to lead off with a large trump. When leading with your trump, you will not only be pulling out your opponent's trumps, you will also be pulling out your partner's trump. If both your trumps are small, you could lose both trump cards to your opponents.
- Assume your partner will be able to take one trick. If you have two guaranteed tricks, then you should order up.
- You should order-up if you have three trump cards, or if you have two Aces and another card in the same suit, or the King and another card in the same suit. There are cases where this may not work to your advantage, but high cards will usually help you out.
- Don't play good cards against your opponent's high trump. For example, if your opponent leads an Ace and you have a bower and a low trump, throw out the low trump and save the bower for the next hand.
