Getting Faster Performance
If you have a slow Internet connection, you will be at a disadvantage competing against players with faster connections, but there are a number of possible cures and workarounds.

To find out how fast you are connecting to the game, press ALT T to check the Network dials on the Data Screen. As long as the dial indicator is in the green zone, you're doing all right and don't need to worry about the quality of your connection. When it slips into the yellow or red area, it's time to figure out what the problem is and deal with it.

The Network Data Loss dial lets you know how much data is being lost in transmission between your computer and the server computer that the game is on. Possible causes of data loss are heavy Internet traffic and line noise.

The Network Latency dial tells you how long it takes data to travel between your computer and the game server. If your network latency is unusually high, it will be difficult for you to compete against players with low latency, and you may experience some odd visual effects (stop-and-go action, for example). You may want to leave the game for a while and return at a time when your network is not so busy. Or you can use ZoneMessage to find other players who are having latency problems and set up a private game. For more information on latency, see Latency Indicator under Game Room Functions in Fighter Ace Help.
