Selecting Help Level
The very last selection you will make is to set the level of help you need. If you have never played online role-playing games before, select the first option that starts you off with a short guided tour. The tour is quick and will introduce you to all the basic information and cool features of the game.
Taking the Tour
To take the online tour, just follow the paths provided on the screen. For example, when the game tells you the obvious path is east, type e.
The tour takes you through a backstage area set up to help familiarize you with the game before setting off into the busy streets of Athens. Throughout the tour you may see odd objects such as levers and buttons. Experiment with them for a little fun - try PULLing and PUSHing them to see what they do!
Towards the end of the tour, you will be led through a doorway to a shaded garden in Athens. There is a large sign here. To read it, type READ SIGN. Need a rest? Try lying down on the hammock or bench that you see. Type SIT or LIE HAMMOCK, and to stand back up type STAND.

Finding a Mentor
Mentors are players like you who volunteer their time to help new players get accustomed to Hercules & Xena: Alliance of Heroes. They are always IC (in character) so their responses to you will be as if you are speaking to their character and not the player behind the character.
You will notice a brass bell in the garden. You can ring the bell by typing PULL BELL or RING BELL. This calls for a Mentor. If a mentor is available, you'll get an answer shortly. Otherwise, you may have to come back later to obtain help.
From time to time, mentors in the game send out messages to new players saying they are available. Whenever you see the message:
[Mentor's Name] is now available to answer new adventurers' questions
Type AGREE and you will be transported to the Mentor.
