Andre Anthony of Newport Beach, CA works in the computer industry. She began playing chess as an adult "after putting if off far too many years." She likes the in-depth analysis on the Kasparov vs. The World web site. Andre says, "I read Irina's analysis. She is terrific."

JoAnn Shillington, a social worker from Nanaimo, British Columbia, learned to play chess from her father at the age of 10. She is intrigued by the magnitude of the Kasparov vs. The World game, with thousands of people playing against the World Champion.

In deciding her moves, she says, "Generally I go with the analysts. I also check the bulletin boards to see what other moves I'd consider. The moves are more predictable now with fewer pieces on the board." In her photo, JoAnn is fishing on Great Slave Lake.

Francois Englebrecht of Pretoria, South Africa, is an economist whose chess-playing days began with a Sinclair's 48K ZX-SPECTRUM computer. What intrigues him about Kasparov vs. The World? "The balance between Kasparov's having to play against the power of so many minds and computers; and the economic fact that decisions of the masses are less intelligent than decisions by an individual." Francois studies the Analysts' moves and does his own calculating as well.
