This section covers shooting tactics -- another important aspect of the game if you want to kill anyone.
Gun selection
I have asked many good players about the guns they take, and by experience, I can say that the CAR-15 and the M16A2 are the best ones. The CAR-15 is the most powerful gun after the shotgun, which I do not recommend. It is useful for short-range shooting. The M16 has the best sniper and is good for maps such as ROAD. The MP5 series do not have good snipers and are not that powerful. The shotgun is bad because you only get one round at a time, and the precision is horrible for long range.
The MP5-SD is sometimes a great weapon in survival games, especially for hiding and sniping. However, the fact that it's silenced makes its precision poor.
Help, I'm out of ammo!
Don't worry -- relax. Well, don't take it too easy. You have three options:
In close range: - Take out your secondary weapon and start shooting. Use your bullets wisely. This tactic is useful if you want a quick response.
- Reload your mag while running around like a madman. This way, you avoid being shot. When recharging your mag, it seems that it goes faster if you hold the run button.
In long range: - You can't use your secondary weapon or you will look like an idiot. So? Move to the side where you can't get shot and reload your mag. When moving back into position, be careful because they are waiting for you. I recommend changing position and surprising the guy.
How many rounds at a time?
When in sniper mode, I recommend one bullet at a time -- straight in the forehead. That would be an instant kill and your precision is a lot better. Alternatively, when you're not in sniper mode, it is always better to take three rounds at a time. - How? The default button to change the number of rounds you shoot at a time is the . (period key).
- Why? The fewer bullets you use, the better your precision will be.
Do a little test. Go into any training mission (shooting range for example). Now go into sniper mode on the wall with your first mag. Keep everything as it is, meaning don't change the number of bullets, and shoot the wall continuously. Keep your finger on the fire button and fire at the same place. The bullets aren't all at the same place; they go everywhere. Now, with your second mag, press the period (.) key until you see only three bullets. Go into sniper mode and shoot the wall. This time, don't keep your finger on the fire button. You see the difference? You are much more precise. Using three bullets also saves your ammo because you don't waste it all in one shot.
Basic shooting
Now, you must know that the moving and shooting combo are the only way you will survive and/or kill. When you spot someone who doesn't see you, don't rush it but also don't take too long. When surprising someone, keep in mind that the first person to shoot is the one who will have the highest chance of killing the opponent. In close, while strafing, try to shoot the target without missing. If you have trouble with this technique, try using the training. That will help. From far away, I think it's always good to snipe, because you have a better view of what you're going to shoot. While shooting in close range, always move. When entering a passage, run forward and shooooooooooooooot. I always see pros doing this tactic. It's annoying because they surprise me and shoot me while I desperately click my mouse buttons. Then BOOM! I'm dead.
