This list of strategy tips should help you get higher scores!
- Memorize words that have a Q but no U. (There's now an online guide to help you with this one! Choose Guides, and go to Q Without U.)
- Try to place letters that make new words with adjacent tiles.
- Use your RACK option to try several different way s to sort your rack: alphabetical, ascending, descending, and vowels first.
- Look for hook words. Hook words are words that can be made by just adding one character to the front or back of any other word.
- Look for a bingo in your rack. A bingo is when you can play all seven tiles at once. You get a premium of 50 points added to the value of the word played.
- Memorize words using the letters J, X, and Z. These are difficult letters, but if you play them correctly, you can achieve a big score.
- Try to place high-value letters in the premium letter squares.
- Get rid of hard-to-use tiles quickly.
- Learn to identify two-letter words, since those can be used practically anywhere on the board.
- Look for anagrams. Sometimes, rearranging a word can strategically place a high value tile in a premium letter square.
